Founder and Managing Director Colin Le Gresley ensures Aztec Label maintains the same commitment to using the best equipment, materials and staff that has led to the company being respected within the industry since the first labels came off its presses in 1993.

Colin explained that Aztec Label, which manufactures a wide range of self-adhesive label and tag products, from plain to 10 colours, built its success on forging strong relationships with customers the length and breadth of the country. “The knowledge levels of our staff stretch far beyond those of many other companies, with more than 300 years of collective production and management experience,” he said. “With our fully refurbished, 19,000 sq ft facility ideally located in the heart of the West Midlands, we proudly serve thousands of customers across the whole of the UK and beyond, using our experience and equipment to deliver on our pledge that no matter how large an order, you can rely on Aztec Label to fulfil any job, any size.”
Aztec Label enjoyed enormous growth since those first labels rolled off the press, but is still a family-run business. “We take enormous pride in our valued staff, and believe that our experience has enabled us to form solid, longstanding relationships with external suppliers, bonds which allow us to ensure that we offer a superior product and service every single time,” said Colin.
Committed to quality – investing for today and tomorrow
“At Aztec Label, we operate a full quality control system for every stage of our operation, with rigorous testing and cross checks and full traceability on the key materials used,” explained Colin. “Our Kidderminster facility also has a full on-site plate making suite that ensures fast turnaround on orders. Our equipment, facilities, team and processes enable us to fulfil all jobs – even those urgent orders demanding same day delivery – without compromising on accuracy or quality.
“As part of this commitment to providing the best to our customers, we use the latest technology and equipment to ensure we deliver an efficient, fast and high-quality service,” he said. “Having recently installed an additional Nilpeter FB3300 four-colour label printing press to further expand capacity, our further investment in another Rotometrics Versa-Cutä dual-adjust anvil made us the first company in Europe to operate four. Our in-house repro facilities include the most up-to date Esko flexo imager, fast water-wash plate systems and exposure units, and we have also recently worked with UV drying systems experts Benford, installing a first LED UV system on a two-colour press which deliver improved quality for our customers while further boosting our own sustainability performance.”

As a responsible business committed to sustainability, Aztec Label is consistently working to reduce its own carbon footprint. “This is not only being achieved through significant investment in energy-saving – and energy-producing – technology at our premises, but also through implementing new processes and systems that are delivering improvements across the business,” said Colin.
“We installed a huge 360-panel, 98kwh solar energy system which generates a significant part of our own electrical consumption, and have reduced our energy usage through a number of initiatives, including replacing most of our lighting with energy-efficient LEDs.”
